High School Diploma or GED or AA/AS Degree or higher degree completed.

Before applying, complete the program鈥檚 prerequisites.听

All prerequisites must be completed with a 鈥淐鈥� or higher and grades demonstrated on transcripts prior to applying.听 “P’ is not acceptable.听 It is recommended prerequisites be completed within five years of acceptance to the program.听

• BIOL-20 Microbiology
• ENGL-C1000 鈥� Academic Reading & Writing or ENGL-1A 鈥� College Composition & Reading or ENGL-C1001/H 鈥� Critical Thinking & Writing or ENGL-13/PHIL-13/H Critical Reasoning & Writing
• STAT-C1000 鈥� Introduction to Statistics or MATH 10 Elementary Statistics or PSYC 5 Intro to Stats in Psychology

Fill out the Criteria II AND IB – GPA and Prerequisite Course Form.听 This must be uploaded with your application.

All applicants are required to upload transcript(s) with their application.

Transcripts must include all work shown as completed on the application. All prerequisites must be completed with a 鈥淐鈥� or higher and grades demonstrated on transcripts prior to applying. No 鈥渋n progress鈥� prerequisites will be accepted. An application that is not completely filled out and/or does not have all transcripts submitted by the application deadline will be considered incomplete.

If prerequisites/coursework was completed at school(s) other than 吃瓜头条, official transcript(s) must be sent to both 吃瓜头条 Admissions & Records for evaluation AND official transcript(s) must be submitted with the application to the RN Program. When submitting official transcripts, please review the Transcripts & Enrollment Verification webpage for important dates and timelines.

If prerequisites/coursework was completed at 吃瓜头条, an unofficial transcript must be submitted with the application to the RN Program. Students can login to their 吃瓜头条 Self-Service听account to download a PDF of an unofficial transcript.

International Students:听 Students with international (outside the U.S.) coursework will need to have their transcript(s) evaluated for U.S. equivalency.听 International transcripts must be officially evaluated by the following agency:

  • You may upload your 鈥淔oreign Language Certification Form鈥� from last year鈥檚 application if you have it saved.听 Forms from other Colleges/Universities will NOT be accepted.

Students will be accepted for the next academic year (1/2 for Fall and 1/2 for Spring 鈥� based on grant funding). 50% are selected by points and 50% are selected by lottery.

Make sure you take a photo or screenshot of the notification message for your reference and personal records.听 You will be prompted to download the completed application. Save that for your personal records. 听After the application window closes, a committee reviews all the applications. The review process ensures that applications are complete and accurate and meet the Program鈥檚 standard admission requirements.

After this internal review, you will receive notification to the email addresses you provided on your application regarding your status, i.e., 鈥渁ccepted, alternate, not accepted or disqualified.鈥�

ACCEPTANCE

Your acceptance will be emailed to you and will outline all details.听 Further information regarding class and clinical schedules will be provided at the MANDATORY orientation.听 Failure to provide required documentation by deadlines may cancel admission to the program.

Some travel to clinical facilities outside Merced is required.

LVN to RN Pathway:听 Your acceptance is contingent upon passing an entrance exam based on fundamentals (1^st semester) principles in nursing.听 You must obtain a 75% to be fully accepted.听 The date/time will be provided in your email.

Please Note – Limitations on Enrollment/Requirements:听 Allied Health students must adhere to clearance requirements in order to be accepted into, and continue enrollment in, Allied Health Programs鈥� clinical courses. Requirements include: background checks, drug screenings, vaccinations. 吃瓜头条 follows the requirements put in place by our clinical partners.
